Now Tandy is a good store but you will hear some bad mouthing of the store in some forums so far we have never had any problems with the leather that we have gotten off Tandy, good quality and pleasant people to do business with...how ever we are running this business in Sydney Australia their website is based out of the US so some things they do have problems getting a hold of or we have had to wait more then a few days to get our shipment so that can hurt a little bit. But over all great quality products. They have kits for beginners all the way up to start kits for a small leather business.
Second source that we truly enjoy and use a lot of is this one:
There are people on this forum that have been doing leather working for 30+ years. It is a great place to meet other leather workers, and more importantly a great place to LEARN from these people. We have learned so much just on the forums alone, and its a nice place to show some of your work off and get advice on how to improve it.
The last resource that we will share today is another Tandy website which is:
Here are a lot of videos on how to make different thinks from key fobs to goggles to top hats to corsets to...a lot of things...its worth the money to get a 3 month sub for and Georgia Hurst is a great teacher, that old bugger is a GREAT teacher!!! Clear instructions and patterns as well.
This only three sources there are a lot of other places to look for information and it is so worth knowing, even if you have no intention of actually doing hands on it's still a great palce to look and marvel at how creative people truly are.
